Many parish councils (PC) are being delisted by banks or struggle to open new bank accounts because they do not have ‘certificates of incorporation’ or the correct online presence. Yet, all PCs are listed by their respective district councils (DC). The problem is, that online banks are national, not local, and go by what they can find online.
One day the national government will provide a full, verified, list of all parish councils but, until then, this is it.
The list has the following:
- PC name
- PC location (google and W3W)
- PC website address (if available)
- PC contact email address
- relevant DC name
- relevant DC webpage where PC is listed
- relevant county council (CC) name
- relevant local association of local council’s name
In order to delve deeper into this website a PC must enter the six items highlighted in red above. No cost is involved to do this.
DigiClerk will then contact the relevant DC to confirm the PC. If the PC is a member of the local association that verification can be obtained too.
Once on the list the PC can use this platform. We hope that the list will become the recognised national list of PCs.
what will my listing look like?
